Verify where the data base is located*

If no backup is made in advance please follow these guides on DB Back Up for your Software System:

Please follow the Full  EasyDent4 DB & Fileserver backup documentation guide for full details.

1.) Verify Server Location:

You can verify where the data base is located by locateiing the C:\Easydent4\Net.ini

127.0.0.1 (Local) , if any other IP is used that PC IP address is the destination.

2.) Verify Data Paths:

You can verify where the data base is located by locateiing the C:\Easydent4\File Server\

fileserver.ini & Imagebackup.ini

Once a working back up is confirmed, Continue on.

Moving Data

In the event you need to move the file Server data simply locate the data location in the previous section and make a copy to the destination desired and update the C:\Easydent4\File Server\ Fileserver.ini and imagebackup.ini to match the desired location.

Note: The SQL Database DOES NOT MOVE locations.

Example:

1.) As indicated in the FileServer.ini and imagebackup.ini; if the data is in C:\Easydent4\File Server\files\ and C:\Easydent4\repository\ and want to make a move to D:\Vatech then we will first create the folder destination we desire.

2.) Then make a copy of the C:\Easydent4\File Server\files and the C:\Easydent4\repository to the C:\Vatech folder.

3.) Once the copy is finished, edit the C:\Easydent4\File Server\  FileServer.ini and imagebackup.ini, you will change the data paths to the updated file path on the newly copied data set on D: to reflect the location the data was moved too.

4.) Once finished restart the File Server.exe or the PC* to pick up the updated file path.
