CleverOne and Davis Segmentation Tool - Installation and Update Guide

CleverOne & Davis Advanced Segmentation Toolkit -   

 

Download Installation Files:

Select the EzSeries Package installer; as outlined by the most recent version under Section 1 for new installations/updating or previous versions based on your specific version requirements. You can also click the 'Download All' to start the entire download package vs selecting each individual file.


In order to ensure you are updating or installing the proper versions, use the following break down to determine the proper version combinations to use.

When updating from previous versions of CleverOne it is required to update all Workstations to the latest CleverOne version as well as update ALL EzServer components to the following matching versions:
 

A.) Core Programs Download:

Downlaod:  CleverOne & Advanced Segmentation ToolKit Installation Files  

- Select the Current Version As outlined in section A.

-Click 'Download All' to start the download for the core installation files.



1.) CleverOne V1.0.6 Installation Package

  • EzServer                 - Server Location 
    V6.2.3
  • EzCommonTools     - Server Location
    V1.1.2
  • Consult Videos        - Server Location
    V1.3.0.2
  • CleverOne               - Capture PC/Workstations
    V1.0.6
  • Davis Segmentation - Capture PC or Planning Station* 
    V1.1.1

2.) Implant Library Downlaod:

Download Implant Library Version to match your version of EzServer in use*. 

  • Implant Database    - Server Location
     

3) Clever One and Advanced Segmentation Tool PC/GPU Requirements: 

Client: Those users that are using 2D/3D requiring Normal 3D viewing*
- For 2D Viewing only; IOS Capturing or etc No 3D Viewing- GPU Not Required
-For 3D Viewing GPU Is Required

Davis Toolkit for Segmentation: Those users requiring the Expert Segmentation tool, typically will be a dedicated PC for this function. 

CleverOne PC Requirements

 

Note: Clever One Advanced Segmentation Tool Users - Replaces EzSeries EzDent-i and Ez3D-i. Those software are no longer to be used for Clever One Users. 


3.) Before Installing or Updated to CleverOne* or the Davis Toolkit for Advanced Segmentation Toolkit, the site must be on EzSeries Version 6.2 or newer*

- EzServer,  please verify compatibility before updating*. Before updating for existing users to 6.2 they must be on supported 5.5.2 or newer. 

You can locate the current version you are on by looking at "Add or Remove Programs" or from control panel "Uninstall A Program", look for 'EzServer' in the list and it will be noted the version currently installed.

- IF the existing site is NOT already on EzServer 6.2 or newer, please follow the update guide:  Previous Version Install or Update Guide before proceeding. 
 

4.) Ensure WMIC is installed 

- Ensure WMIC is installed in windows, by opening 'Optional Features
- Search 'WMIC' , if installed WMIC will appear in the features found. 
- If not installed; please install as normal Installing WMIC Guide


5.) Ensure that any higher version PostGres higher than 9.2 or 15 is stopped before installing (If present) 

- Postgres 9.2 and Postgres15 should remain running* 
- Any Postgres Higher than PostGres9.2 if present should be stopped before installation. 
- I.T. Should verify if Version 15 is installed already or not before proceeding installation.  If the version is in installed by another company software other than Vatech, please verify with the 3rd party before installing. 

 


B. Backups:

Before installing or updating to latest version of
CleverOne & Davis - Advanced Segmentation Toolkit Suite, there are a few things that you will want your IT consultant to do first.


Please ensure this process is handled by a certified IT consultant to handle all aspects of the upgrade process, due to the nature of the process handling PHI and HIPAA guidelines only Certified IT consultants will be supported. 

Important Notice: 

It is highly recommended to Disable any Security/Antivirus Software before installing to prevent any false positive or scanning that will result in installation error. 

 

A. Backing up the database (existing users)

 

For Existing Users updated: EzServer,  Certified - IT MUST BACKUP the database by following the Backup Documentation Guide located here
 

  • It is required that a full and complete backup is made and confirmed before proceeding
  • ONLY A Certified IT professional handles the Backup/Update. 

 

C. Software Installation & Updating :

For Customers Converting from EzSeries to CleverOne - (EzSeris EzDenti / 3DI to Clever One):You will be installing CelverOne package from scratch, Except for updating the existing EzServer data to Version Series 6 from Version series 5* 

For existing CleverOne Users: All can be ran as update over the top of existing version by Clinical IT. No additional support is normally required.   Updating Existing Database and Cleverone. 

For New CleverOne Users  You will be installing CelverOne package from scratch - No database. 

For both Existing / Migration users (Update) and New Users - If there is an existing database in place be sure the EzServer 6.0 or newer has been installed/updated first. 
Previous Version Install or Update Guide before proceeding. 

  Installing/Updating EzServer 6.0 or higher:

1.)  Installing EzServer: Installing EzServer 6 Series for new users having no existing Database. 
 

To update the EzServer after the required backup is completed;

  • Locate the downloaded EzServer installation files from step A.; including ImplantData and Consult video installation packages.


    - If installing for the first time: installing with no existing database* 

    Note: if you desire the Data storage path to be different than the default installation path such as secondary hard drive please select the installation path during this setup process.




    - If updating & installing from a previous version: from previous version & having existing database* If you are updating from existing version
     
  • IF:  Installing from an existing 6 series or higher version you will simply need to follow the update process all the way through. 
     
  • IF:  Updating from previous version you must update from 5.5.2 to Version 6.2.x you will be prompted to Upgrade &  convert the data during the installation process*. You will then be prompted to upgrade the version, click Upgrade and next all the way through*

 

Pro Tip:
If you need to update the storage file path (Post installation) to where you would like to move the data file path, please follow this guide:

 


2. Installation of CleverOne & Segmentation Package

CleverOne Segmentation package update/installation. 

Locate; from the download package the \CleverOne Vx.x.x.x\ & \DAVIS Toolkit for Segmentation Vx.x.x.x\ directory 

Preferred selection for installation: 

  • -Option A: Client (For Workstations / Ops / Chairside / consults) 

    -Option C: Console Admin (For Capture PC - Linked to 2D/3D Devices) allowing admin
      rights on the running application. 



     
  • Once the installation is finished; you will be prompted to run and connect to the database (Please see Section E to connect to the database and Section F to register the license) 
     

         

F. Connecting CleverOne to the server
 

When installing / running CleverOne for the first time, you will be prompted to select the quick settings as shown below to choose the location of the server and specific settings. This will occur on every PC installed. 

  • Click Search
     
  • Selecting the Database Location:
  • Click Search to locate the IP address.

           -If the data base is local select 127.0.0.1
           -If the data base is remote select the IP from the list.
            
           

Additional Settings:

  • Leave the Settings Location as 'Local', Do not use 'Server' as it will result in errors if you use it.
  • Change the Teeth Code from FDI to Universal System
  • Save options can be selected for user preference but Vatech recommends to set all options to 'Auto Db Save'



     



G. Activation of Floating License Key 

1) Activation of Static or Floating License for CleverOne & EzSeries 

Please note that the activation process for Cleveone & EzSeries are the same process for floating key system. 

  • Activate Floating Licesnse System:  Floating Licesnse System Activation Guide. 
  • Note: Make sure the timezone is set to the same zone on each PC.The license won't see the activated license and might result in "No Plugin" Warning box, or EzSeries Software might still ask for activation.
