Capture Program not launching after bridging to EzDent-i from 3rd Party Software

Some 3rd Party programs such as AbleDent; Dentrix Ascend, Open Dental: While briding patient information the Capture Program not launching after bridging when pressing the 'Panaramic / CBCT (CT) or Ceph buttons inside EzDent-i. 

When using 3rd party bridging patient information to EzDent-i, hitting the 'Acquisition' tab and selecting 'CT' or 'Pano' the capture program does not launch. This is due to child permission lacking admin in Windows 10 and up due to lack of admin rights when passing child permissions. 

  • Simply add 'Run As Administrator' on the 3rd party application shortcut used to launch the software, by right clicking the Application short cut and selecting Properties. 
  • Once open click the Compatibility tab; here you will locate 'Run as Administrator' and Click apply then Ok 


     
  • AbleDent, Dentrix Ascend and OpenDental are also sometimes affected and simply adding Run Administrator off thier shortcut will solve the issue.  


In the following example using Dentrix Ascend as an example: 
 

  • Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Acquisition Agent\
  • Locate the 'Acquisition Agent.exe' (Shown below)
  • Right Click and hit properties.

  • Select the 'Compatibility' tab.
  • Check the 'Run this program as an administrator'

  • Click 'Apply' and 'Ok'
  • Try to bridge again and capture image.
