Vatech Pre-installation sheets include all vital information such as product dimensions, specifications, wiring, as well as well as PC specifications for your particular unit and more!


Vatech America recommends that you contact your Authorized Dealer to assist with all pre-installation questions and concerns to ensure that your installation goes as smoothly as possible, as well as conduct any site surveys for your specific needs.

Important Notice On Mounting:

- All Units MUST be Wall Mounted for stability of the unit.

- Base Plate is MANDATORY for units with CEPHLOMETRIC (Ceph) units.

RS232 'Serial Connector':

For Units that use an RS232 Serial connector the following is the the size of RS232 9 Pin connector is 30.80 W x 12.50 H MM

Note: Not all units will use a serial connection, please review the Pre-installation Specifications and Requirements  for the device to ensure the proper communication is being used. 

 



Note: For Conduit please consider 2" to allow room for the connector and cables to be pulled through any bends. 



Extending Cables


A. Exposure Switch: 

Exposure switch wires/cables can be extended within industry standards. 

  • Optional: Using nominal low voltage wire, wired/spliced inline conforming all local codes* spliced inline with Vatech Exposure switch/Doorbell or aftermarket push button Doorbell push button.
  • Recommended: Using OEM Harness 'Door Bell SW Cable' which can be wired inline, Vatech also advises to order a secondary Exposure switch to use if/when splicing to retain the OEM exposure switch.

Updated Models might come with 5 Pin wire and should be wired in the following color sequence: 




B. Cat7 Cables: 

Cat7 "Ethernet" Cables can be pre-run through office or extended using any compatible Cat7 Cabling, with wall cover terminations compatible for Cat7e type connections. (Supplied by site or ordered separate) It is highly recommended that a direct connection is made between the X-ray Device and the PC, although across network traffic can be achieved it is not recommended.

Extending the connection can also be archived by using the following recommended OEM parts as listed below.

C. Fiber Optic Extension:

Fiber Optic can be extended by using a Fiber Optic Coupler and Factory Fiber Cable (Ordered separate) Please confirm Preinstallation Specifications and Requirements  for the device to ensure the proper connector / cable is being used. 

Vatech does not support aftermarket fiber cables, OEM cables are designed specifically to work with Vatech Products.
