EzSeries: Email Settings with Google Gmail Authentication and app passwords

Google Notice:

Effective June 15, 2024, the Google (Gmail) email sending function in EzDent-i/Ez3D-i will be
updated. Here are the details of the change:


As of September 30, 2024, Google will no longer support apps that access Google
accounts and Google Sync using only passwords.
② Starting from June 15, Google will gradually stop supporting several protocols used for email
sending.
③ Accordingly, the method of registering a username and password in the EzDent-i and Ez3D-
i app settings for email sending will no longer be supported.
④ Customers who have been using the Google email sending function will no longer be able
to use this feature. Anticipating potential confusion, appropriate measures need to be taken.

password to access Google Accounts and Google Sync will no longer be supported

Customers using a Google account must obtain a new “App Passwords” for Viewer SW products before May 30th to use the ‘Email Sender’ function normally. For details, refer to the following instructions.

Note: Vatech Service is not able to support in the configuration or support of user configurations. Your IT person should assist in all aspects of configuration and inputting any configuration data.
 



EZSeries Version requirements:


For the updated Google Security you must be on the following versions:

(You can verify the versions by consulting your IT person and verifying via Add/Remove programs program versions lists)

- EzServer v.5.5.0

- EzDent-i v3.4.6

- Ez3D-i v5.5.2

If you are not on a supported version you can following the EzSeries Update Guide here to upgrade before following the rest of this guide.

 



Configuration

1. You will need the Registered password of your Gmail (Google) email account.

2. Open settings by Accessing the Menu in EzDent-i / Ez3D-i

3. Click under Environment the 'Linkage/E-mail' tab. You will enter your email login information, SMTP server, Port number and Security (All provided by Google/Gmail) or your webhost.

You will also be required to input your password.Once all information is entered click Test to test the connection and verify account in Google (See step 4) and OK to save when ready*


4. App asks for authorization for authorized devices when sending Google emai

5. Google should only asks for authentication on the first time and never again after following the guide.
